Turkish folk dance is more than steps in a circle; it is 4,000 years of migration, empire and everyday joy distilled into rhythm. From Bronze-Age shepherds stomping to scare wolves, to Ottoman Janissaries drilling in precise formations, to modern wedding parties linking arms at midnight, the same pulse has carried through Anatolia’s mountains, coasts and bazaars.
Celebrating the world—one dance floor at a time.
Why learn it?
Cardio without the treadmill – Continuous 6/8 and 9/8 rhythms keep your heart in the aerobic sweet spot while you forget you’re working out.
Rhythmic intelligence – Turkish meters are famously tricky; mastering them rewires your musical ear and sharpens timing for every other dance style.
Built-in community – Most sets begin in a hand-to-shoulder line; nobody sits out for lack of a partner. Perfect for newcomers, families and shy movers.
Cultural fluency – Understand the gestures behind current Turkish pop, belly-dance shimmies and even some Balkan tunes—because they all borrow from this root.
Mindful storytelling – Each regional step has a meaning (harvest, courtship, sea voyage). Learning them is like reading living poetry with your body.
Live davul–zurna duo powering every class—feel the thunder in your chest.
Authentic costuming demo: embroidered cepken vests, silver belt buckles, and felt efe hats.
Guest master teacher direct from Ege University Conservatory—here in Orlando.
Lecture-demo evenings featuring Turkish coffee tasting and mini language tips, so you can say “Çok güzel!” (“So beautiful!”) with confidence.
Most Americans know Turkey for kebabs and Cappadocia balloons—but its folk dance is the original social network of Anatolia, weaving together Kurds, Laz, Armenians, Greeks and Turks long before hashtags. Bringing that mosaic to Orlando gives our city a deeper cultural palette than any ride queue ever could.

“You don’t just watch Turkish folk dance—you surrender to it. Come link arms with history.”
Caucasian dance is the breathtaking folk art of the mountain peoples of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Chechnya, Dagestan, and their neighbors. Centuries-old steps meet modern stagecraft to tell stories of heroism, courtship, and community.
Lightning footwork & spins that skim the floor in driving 6/8 rhythms.
Athletic leaps and sword work—men embody the warrior spirit while women glide with swan-like grace.
Iconic costumes: fitted black chokha jackets and wool hats for men; velvet gowns and veils for women, each embroidered with regional motifs.
Founded the Sukhishvili Georgian National Ballet in 1945 with his wife Nino Ramishvili.
First to package authentic mountain steps for the world’s great theatres—La Scala, Royal Albert Hall, the Met, Madison Square Garden.
Under his direction the troupe toured 100+ countries, proving that folk dance can command a concert-ballet stage.
Today the company—still run by the Sukhishvili family—remains the benchmark for Caucasian technique and choreography.
For centuries caravans, soldiers, and wedding parties crossed the passes between the Caucasus and Anatolia, carrying more than spices and silk—they carried dance. In the bustling ports of the Black Sea and the winding streets of Istanbul, Georgian sword‐spins fused with Turkish davul & zurna beats, while silky Anatolian arm-lines softened the warrior edge of the mountain steps. Today, Turkish-Caucasian communities still keep those original foot patterns exactly as they were taught on stone village squares, yet lace them with the color and musical swagger of modern Turkish festivals. The result is a kinetic conversation between two cultures—bold, noble, and irresistibly joyful.
UNESCO-level heritage – Caucasian dance is classed as a culturally unique tradition, the very standard used for international artist visas and academic residencies.
Rare to see live in the U.S. – Until now, you had to catch a touring company in New York or L.A.; Nencini Dance Studio is bringing the experience straight to Central Florida.
Athletic meets elegant – Thunderous saber clashes, gravity-defying jumps, and women who seem to float on air—all in one electrifying set.
One‐night passport – No flight, no jet-lag: just step onto our maple floor and feel the snow-capped Caucasus and the bazaars of Anatolia come alive around you.
This season, Nencini Dance Studio opens its doors to the masters direct from the Caucasus–Türkiye corridor for workshops, demos, and a show that will leave your heart racing. Whether you’re a dancer, a culture-lover, or simply curious, come claim your spot and let the mountains move you.
